real quick:

gothamist has an amusing post up today recapping the NYT weddings section from this past sunday.

this was my favorite detail, though - check out the third sentence in the listing.

with a name containing that many consonants, i would have made the same decision. right on.

While I agree that the pronunciation of the name would be quite difficult, I find it interesting that his whole family seems to be running from the name. I am completely fascinated by this. Maybe his grandfather was a serial killer or something... but why give your son that last name and then change yours? Then he has to wait until he gets married to get rid of it? I want to talk to these people...IMMEDIATELY!

you know, i didn't even notice that! didn't read that far in, i guess. that IS fascinating. i'm wondering if it is because the name is vaguely reminiscent of kaczynski (sp?), the unabomber. they just didn't want to be associated with that type of...unpleasantness.
