your wednesday one-liner.

a fair point, courtesy of Overheard in New York:

Very pregnant woman, standing on the subway, stares at a young black guy who took the last seat.

Young black guy: What do you want lady? I didn't get you that way!

When I was VERY pregnant (~7+ mos) I went with Cinnamon and few other friends to the Printers Row Bookfair. We took the el and on the way home the el was packed. This woman, about 40, got out of her seat for me after it was clear the young man next to her wasn't getting up. As I sat down, she read him & the other men in the car the riot act. "I canNOT believe you didn't get up! *I* teach my children manners! What did your momma teach you?"

i certainly get up for pregnant women and old people myself, but you've gotta admit, it's a pretty funny response to the skunk eye :)
